6 years in remission

Today marks the 6th anniversary of the MALT Lymphoma being declared in remission. I probably should have had some kind of celebration planned. But honestly, the cancer didn’t interrupt my life all that much. Some doctor visits, some low-grade chemo treatments, and life goes on. As I’ve posted earlier, my oncologist has officially “cut me […]

5.5 year checkup

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted an update regarding the cancer. Sorry about that. The short-version is that everything is more-than-fine. My oncologist said he’s “cutting me loose”. Basically from here on out I’ll just have a physical (or something that involves blood-drawing) twice a year. No more follow-ups with either doctor. Obviously, […]

The four and a half year checkup

Wow, I haven’t been keeping this portion of the website up to date at all. Sorry about that. Basically, that’s because there hasn’t been anything to report. I’ve been having CT scans in the spring of each year, and this past spring they did another endoscopy with a biopsy of some tissue. Again, no trace […]

The two year checkup

I had an appointment with my oncologist on December 8, 2004. This is a little over two years since the cancer went into remission. The doctors (both oncologist and gastro doctors) are basically just going to see me every 12 months now, I believe. Both tell me that there is no need to see me […]

The ten month checkup

I had an endoscopy on Friday August 22, 2003. This was originally scheduled back in April, 2003, for some time in October which would have been a one year checkup. However, I lost my job at ANSYS, Inc. in July and moved the checkup back into August so that it would be covered under our […]

The six month checkup

I had a CAT scan on Monday March 31, 2003. This was scheduled back in October, 2002, as a six-month checkup on the cancer. On April 7, I saw my oncologist to hear the results and have a basic physical checkup.
