Today I had a plan, as usual. \u00a0We would drop Rick’s car at the service station for an inspection, drive him to work, and then head to the new Tanger Outlets in Washington. \u00a0It was a decent plan. \u00a0I had only wanted to look in a few stores and sort of check things out. \u00a0Let’s just say that my plan did not exactly turn out how I imagined. \u00a0(This is typical for me.) \u00a0How I responded to this was a bit different today though. \u00a0<\/p>\n
We arrived at the Outlets in a mob of traffic and as we approached, I was wondering where I would see a particular outlet store to park near. \u00a0This was a joke. \u00a0There was certainly not ample parking for the amount of crazies (like myself) that came out. \u00a0And apparently, there was some goofy parade at 11:00 and Jerome Bettis making an appearance. \u00a0Lots of fanfare for a bunch of shoppers. \u00a0The bottom line for me and Quin is that we drove around for 20+ minutes hunting a parking spot. \u00a0The arrangement of the parking was a little strange to me, plus there were news vans, carousels, and lots of carnival looking stuff taking up some of the normal parking area. \u00a0Basically, I looked back at my son who had been so patient in the back seat all the way to Rick’s office and then to Washington, and I just couldn’t put him through any more driving around. \u00a0<\/p>\n
My decision was to take him down Route 19 for lunch. \u00a0I’ve never requested a table for two for just me and Quin. \u00a0We drove down to Red Robin (always a good choice for us). \u00a0He had a burger and fries, and I had soup and salad. \u00a0He got to color. \u00a0Mostly, he got to be out of his car seat and be himself. \u00a0I enjoyed lunch with him, which isn’t always a simple matter. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Someday we’ll go back to the outlets, but for today a table for two suited us just fine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
