{"id":300,"date":"2008-07-30T13:22:52","date_gmt":"2008-07-30T18:22:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rickandviv.net\/?p=300"},"modified":"2013-11-28T09:07:30","modified_gmt":"2013-11-28T14:07:30","slug":"heartbeat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rickandviv.net\/index.php\/2008\/07\/30\/heartbeat\/","title":{"rendered":"Heartbeat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today was a normal appointment for me with the OB\/GYN.\u00a0 However, it turned out to be quite exciting.\u00a0 I am at 10+ weeks and the heartbeat is usually consistently found somewhere around 12 weeks.\u00a0 The lovely nurse at my doctor&#8217;s office was skilled enough to find the heartbeat today.\u00a0 What an exciting sound.\u00a0 I remember hearing that first heartbeat when Quin was still unknown to us.\u00a0 It makes everything seem so real and so amazing. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a little info on fetal heart development.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The heart&#8217;s early development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart.
