I’ll be playing games for 24 hours (again! it’s my eleventh year!) spread across November 8th and 9th<\/b> to benefit Children’s Hospital here in Pittsburgh. I should be streaming (roughly) between 9:00am EST and 9:00pm EST both days.<\/p>\n Every year the Extra Life organization<\/a> has a gaming day where people pledge to play games of any kind (video games, board games, card games, whatever) for a 24 hour period. People can pledge money to support these gaming efforts and the monies collected go to help a local Children’s Hospital.<\/p>\n It’s kinda like a walk-a-thon or other such fund-raiser – you pledge money towards a good cause in a way that also supports the efforts of a friend.<\/p>\n Consistent with how I’ve done things the past couple of years, I’ve decided that I’m getting too old for this … uh, stuff. I’ll again break up the 24 hours of gaming across a Saturday and Sunday of a single weekend. This has worked well for me so I’m sticking with this plan moving forward.<\/p>\n Based on previous years, I’ve set a goal of $1000. That should really be attainable. I’m not an overly competitive guy, so I’m not on a crazy campaign to out-do previous years’ amounts (although that would be great), I’m just wanting to do something fun that benefits kids. I also have acquired an Evercade in the last year or so and plan to do some gaming on that. But I do have other systems as well and may branch out a bit.
