Christmas decorating with a 2-year old

Someone should have warned me how much longer it would take to decorate a Christmas tree with a 2-year old boy. The tree was up and half-way decorated when Quin awoke from his nap today. He came down and took a look at the tree. He uttered one word as he stared at it, “Christmas.” […]

Trains

This morning Quin woke up and was playing in his room as is becoming more usual since he moved to a toddler bed. After a bit, we heard him saying “Train! Train!” and “Choo-choo!” — again, not unusual to hear while Quin plays. He has several toy trains (mostly of the Thomas the Tank Engine […]

After dinner music

After Quin finishes dinner (really, just about any meal) his mouth starts going. Usually he sings some incomprehensible goofiness, and a lot of the time it is accompanied by “drum playing”. I especially like the 1-2-3-4-5 count before the music can start.

Post Trick or Treating

Quin seemed to enjoy meeting the neighbors and collecting as much candy as he could.  Here are a couple of shots of little Yoda in his first moments reviewing the loot and then passing out after he was allowed to enjoy a few treats.

Happy Halloween!

What do three Star Wars characters do after a free lunch (in costume) at Chick-Fil-A?  Run around the yard and pose for pictures.  Enjoy!  (Quin and his cousins, Grant and Marah sure had some fun today.  And yes, Yoda does need a pacifier for some reason.  Thank you cousin Grant for loaning us a light […]

The Children’s Museum

We finally made it to the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.  Our friend Jill kindly invited us to join Ella and Jack there.  She was also kind enough to drive us.  Thank you Jill!  This place was definitely a great spot for Quin and Ella.   These two started out the day by painting, then doing […]

Munk-chips, Grape Soup & Door Knobs

If anyone has been wondering what’s new with us, this post’s title kind of sums it up.  Quin’s language skills continue to develop, however this morning he started asking me about munk-chips as we were looking out the back window.  It took me a minute to figure out that he was really wondering where the […]

Trash

Perhaps it is just my little boy, but maybe there are others out there. You see today is Monday. Monday is the day that our trash is set out to be picked up by the folks who have the joy of taking it all away. Today also happens to be our recycle day as well […]

Table for Two

Today I had a plan, as usual.  We would drop Rick’s car at the service station for an inspection, drive him to work, and then head to the new Tanger Outlets in Washington.  It was a decent plan.  I had only wanted to look in a few stores and sort of check things out.  Let’s […]

What’s New?

The posts have been pretty scarce lately.  This doesn’t mean that things haven’t been going on, just that I’ve been a bit lazy, I suppose.  We returned from our beach vacation and slowly returned to a normal routine around the house.  Rick has been busy doing things to his “vintage” motorcycle.  (But I’d rather have […]
